HELP, MY COCKATIEL IS SICK, IS VOMITING, LOST SOME FEATHERSToday I saw my cockatiel vomit it's food out. And then I know what that other stuff in the water is, and why it's chest feathers are wet.
It's losing it's facial feathers too, tail feathers are never preened and there is one intact tail feather left. Its crest is gone too...
Please help quick!
P.S. To a powerful being. I am sorry and I'll change the water and feed them more often, and once I get a good supply of clean paper I'll lay it over the cage floor so they don't walk in poop all the time =( Just not newspapers, that ink that rubs off can't be good I think.
Please live, oh sweet birdy...

First I'd like to say that this is an overwhelmingly weird post for our forums but anyways...
If he's vomitting there's not much that can immeadiately be done other than cleaning out the cage and making sure that everything he has is clean and fresh. I'd suggest going to your local petstore, for birds there should be some medication that you can purchase that's put into his water. Budget shouldn't be a problem I can't see it costing more than five to ten dollars. As for all of his feathers, it'll take a bit for them to grow back once he gets on the mend, but that's the least of your concerns. While you're there I also suggest getting a second opinion, but from my limited exposure in bird care, this is what I'd recommend.
In case you're wondering what this looked like ...

Hope this helped, good luck.

The cage is also shared with 3 other birds.
I like birds...but i'm not fit to take care of them ^>^
Had these ones for like 7+ years too.

If the cage is shared, you may want to consider getting a seperate smaller cage to put the sick one in, you should have one that you use for cleaning perhaps? Are they all affected, or just one? Again you need to start using the vitamen water I suggested, it won't harm the others if they take it since it's simply a suppliment.
